A flaw in Apple's software will crash iPhones and Mac computers if users receive a message that contains a link to a specific website. The chaiOS "text bomb" was discovered earlier this week by software developer Abraham Masri. The bug forces Apple devices to crash or restart. If a user receives a text with the URL through iMessage, it can lock the device, even if he or she doesn't click on it.Masri shared a link to the site in a post on Twitter, but it was taken down.The bug can also stop an iPhone from running iMessage, but deleting the message thread, resetting the device or blocking the site's domain should fix the issue.Cybersecurity experts say chaiOS is relatively harmless and typically used to prank others. The flaw can't steal private data or take control of devices, but its code could be used to crash iOS-based devices by someone with malicious intent.
