The year-long program was designed to connect students with sustainable career paths without the burden of student debt.Executive Director Jonathan Adee says the benefits of greenspaces go beyond aesthetics. "Green spaces can reduce violent crime by 12 percent within a one-mile radius," he noted. But recently, the organization was told that federal funding for the program would be cut by DOGE efforts because it's categorized as a "climate change initiative."Despite the setback, Adee remains optimistic. "We believe that the community is going to step up to the plate and make sure that this program continues," he said.
