Young girl in hospital after 100-foot tree falls on her in Clinton County
An Easter celebration turned into chaos for one Clinton County family. A 9-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after a huge tree fell on her.
Nine-year-old Ezra Dabe is a typical third-grade student. She loves dancing, riding her bike, and spending time with her family.
"She's a very passionate kid, very considerate, especially with animals," Dabe's father, Jessie McClure, said.
On Saturday, Dabe's life took an unexpected turn.
While Dabe was on a trampoline with her cousins in Clinton County, McClure says a 100-foot tree was uprooted and fell onto Dabe and other kids.
"Next thing you know, I heard a crack and pop and we turned and saw the tree coming toward the vehicles," McClure said. "The trampoline was smashed. We could see my daughter in the branches, and she looked like she was in a car accident."
McClure says three other kids were taken to the hospital and are OK. Dabe was flown to Dayton Children's Hospital for severe injuries.
Dabe has multiple fractures, along with spleen and liver lacerations. While she has a long road ahead, McClure says his 9-year-old is brave and fearless.
"She is a fighter and she has made a swift recovery in the short amount of time that's passed," McClure said.
Dabe's family is working on fundraisers to help with medical bills. If you would like to donate,
