Nearly two dozen people were wounded at the end of the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade Wednesday, resulting in multiple injuries and one death.

What happened?
Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said Thursday that the shooting that left 22 people with gunshot wounds and a woman dead started as a dispute between several people at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Victory Parade and Rally.
Police said they detained three juveniles but released one who they determined wasn't involved in the shooting, leaving two in custody. The two juveniles in custody have been charged with crimes connected to the shooting, authorities said Friday.
Graves said on Wednesday that officers immediately responded to the area and performed life-saving measures to aid victims.
"We know officers ran towards danger," she said. "Officers were there to keep everyone safe."
Over 800 police officers were on scene, 600 of which were from the Kansas City Police Department.
"I'm angry at what happened today," Graves said. "The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment. We had over 800 law enforcement officers at this location."

Who are the other victims?
The 22 people injured in the shooting ranged in age from 8 to 47, and half of them were under the age of 16, Police Chief Stacey Graves said at a news conference on Thursday.
Of the eight gunshot victims taken to one hospital on Wednesday, officials said two were still in critical condition on Thursday morning and five had been discharged. The hospital was treating four people who had been injured in the chaos after the shooting, and three of them had been discharged. An official at a second hospital said Thursday that one gunshot victim there remains in critical condition and four people injured in the aftermath of the shooting were treated and released.

Two juveniles have been charged with crimes connected to the shooting, authorities said Friday.
