With all the heavy news in the world, it is often good to be reminded of some of the brighter moments happening.Donnie Pickeral is a pastor at Aycock Fellowship Ministries in Greensboro, North Carolina. Thirty-one years ago, when Pickeral was just 19, he was diagnosed with a IgA nephropathy, a rare genetic kidney disease."There were statistics that I wouldn바카라 게임 웹사이트™t have any kidneys within two years and I'd be on dialysis," Pickeral said. Pickeral had to make serious diet and lifestyle changes and often felt exhausted no matter how much sleep he would get.In 2017, Pickeral stopped into the CVS in Kernersville, North Carolina, and received extraordinary care from a pharmacist named Kathleen Kirkland. Pickeral was so impressed with her knowledge and care, he would soon change his pharmacy to make Kirkland's CVS in Kernersville his home pharmacy. The two would maintain a great relationship. "I feel like God puts people in your path for a reason and I feel like Donnie came to my pharmacy for me to help him," Kirkland said.Donnie's kidneys lasted far longer than two years, but by 2019 his kidney function had dropped under 10%. Doctors told him Pickeral he would need dialysis or a transplant."For me to live, someone else would have to die or someone would have to give of themselves," Pickeral said.So when Donnie came into the CVS and mentioned he was on the transplant list, Kirkland did the unexpected."She said, 'I want to give you my kidney.' Tears came to my eyes cause I wasn't expecting her to say that," Pickeral said. "We talked a bit more and found out we바카라 게임 웹사이트™re the same blood type. We did a fist bump and she started doing her tests and she was a perfect match for me. I felt in my heart when I walked out of that store that the Lord was saying to me she was the one. No one else was even testing. She was the one.바카라 게임 웹사이트So in May of 2020, Kathleen gave Donnie her kidney. The procedure was successful and now both are healthy, and Donnie is still preaching at his church in Greensboro and now with far more energy and the ability to eat anything he would like."I knew he had so much more left to give the world," Kirkland said. "I was happy to be able to help him do that.바카라 게임 웹사이트"Even though we hear all the bad news you need to hear the good news too. There are still good people in this world and Kathleen is still my angel from heaven," Pickeral said. "I like my pharmacist. In fact, I love my pharmacist. She바카라 게임 웹사이트™s my family.바카라 게임 웹사이트 Despite Donnie's praise, Kirkland says she doesn바카라 게임 웹사이트™t view herself as a hero."I just feel like I did a good thing and helped someone when they were in need. I was in the right place at the right time and God put us there together," she said.
