One person has died and another person has been hospitalized after a crash Wednesday night in Preble County, according to the Preble County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say it happened around 8:52 p.m. on State Route 122, south of Yost Road.
Officials say a 2022 Jeep was traveling south on SR 122 while a 2016 Nissan was traveling north. According to deputies, the Nissan traveled left of center, hitting the Jeep.
Authorities say the driver of the Nissan, 22-year-old Spencer Hunt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, a 53-year-old man, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preble County deputies believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. An autopsy will be performed by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office Thursday.
The crash closed SR 122 for approximately four hours.
Gasper Township Fire/EMS, Eaton Fire/EMS, Camden Fire/EMS, the Preble County Coroner's Office, Eaton police and the Ohio Department of Transportation responded to the scene.
