Texas woman died of COVID-19 aboard flight
A Texas woman died of COVID-19 on a Spirit flight from Las Vegas to Dallas that was diverted to Albuquerque on July 25, officials confirm.
According to Stephanie Kitts, a spokeswoman with the Albuquerque International Sunport, the flight was diverted to Albuquerque because the woman was unresponsive.
Kitts told sister station KOAT that there was no mention that the woman had COVID-19 and the team treated the diversion as they would any other medical incident.
When authorities responded to the aircraft it was determined the woman was deceased on arrival, Kitts said.
