Report: Bengals offensive tackle out for the season due to torn patellar tendon
Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Trent Brown is reportedly out for the season.
National Insider for NFL Network Ian Rapoport during Monday night's game against the Commanders.
The injury happened in the second quarter, with the Bengals driving toward an eventual 28-yard field goal by kicker Evan McPherson.
On a first-and-goal from the Washington 8-yard line, quarterback Joe Burrow was sacked for a loss of six yards. After the play, the veteran Brown was tended to by trainers before the cart was brought out.
He was carted off the field and ruled out for the game.
Brown was replaced at right tackle by rookie Amarius Mims, making his NFL debut on Monday night.
Reports say Brown will undergo surgery and will be out for the season. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The Bengals signed Brown to a 1-year deal in March. A seventh-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Brown spent nine seasons in the NFL with three different organizations before signing with Cincinnati.
The 6-foot-8, 370-pound Brown has been named to the Pro Bowl once in his career, during a 2019 season with the Oakland Raiders when he played right tackle.
