It's a week away from Thanksgiving, and according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture census report, turkey production in Maryland has nearly doubled over the past five years. "We grow and process the turkeys and everything that we grow on the farm, we feed the turkeys, so it's a complete circle. We even use the turkey litter to feed next year's crops," said Tom Albright, a co-owner of Albright Farms in Phoenix, Baltimore County.Time is ticking for the turkeys at the northern Baltimore County farm. With Thanksgiving days away, turkey production is in full force."About 7,000 turkeys we've processed. We're up to about 500 an hour. It takes a lot of employment, a lot of help," Albright said."It's always nice to people who come up and say, 'Hey, I've been getting your turkey for 14 years. I just started last year and said best turkey I've ever had.' "This Thanksgiving, you can get your potatoes, onions, your broccoli or green beans, all of that can be resourced right here from Maryland," Chason said."Just buy something local this Thanksgiving.
