Dr. Amy Acton reflects 5 years after COVID-19 was classified as a pandemic

Under the leadership of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and the state바카라 게임 웹사이트s health director, Dr. Amy Acton, Ohio was aggressive in its safety approach.
Ohio was one of the first in the nation to shut down schools, with Acton gaining praise for her leadership during the crisis.
Acton, who is now a candidate in the 2026 Ohio governor바카라 게임 웹사이트s race, also had people who disagreed with her stance.
In an interview with 바카라게임 Tuesday, she reflected on the historic time that will never be forgotten by those who lived through it.
"We saved many lives which is what we were trying to do and we reopened faster, because we were on it," Acton said.
Acton left the position of Ohio health director after only 15 months but she said it wasn't because she couldn't stand the heat.
"I stepped down because I refused to sign orders that were coming from the Speaker of the House Larry Householder and others were putting pressure on me for special interest sorts of things," Acton said.
Now, Acton is running for governor of Ohio as DeWine becomes term-limited after 2026. She's not concerned about the difficult road that might be ahead.
"I grew up in crazy circumstances, I've been through a lot," Acton said. "I worked three jobs to put myself through med school."
